Splish Splash

My parents keep their hot tub cooler in the summer, so it makes a perfect Livi-sized pool!

She loves it!

Like my new look?

I was ready for a layout change on this ol' blog. So I went green. I think it's the organic part of me that wants to be hip and trendy. :-)

Speaking of "green" - well, I'm going cloth. As in diapers. To quote a popular teenage catch phrase: "All my friends are doing it." So, I'm on board.

My friends Angie and Ashley swear by "blueberry" diapers and my sister-in-law likes Bum Genius. I'm trying out each, and we'll see what Olivia likes best. I just ordered them online. I was telling Joel "I'm so excited for Olivias cloth diapers to arrive!" and he's like "um...ok."

Natalie Grant

We were so lucky to have Miss Natalie Grant stop by Spirit today! She's performing this week at Women of Faith (Key Arena) and we asked if she'd mind coming by and singing a few songs. Thank you Natalie!

Such a Cultured Toddler

How GREAT is this?

My friend Jamie just informed me that the Seattle Symphony has a Tiny Tots concert series. Its designed for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, and each concert is only 1/2 hour long. So smart.

I think Olivia would just love this. Imagine her at the sandbox and her little friends say "So, Livi, what did you do last weekend?" and she replies: "Oh, nothing. I just went to the symphony to hear Tchaikovsky." Ha!

Heres your link: http://www.seattlesymphony.org/_dwn/0809_FamilyConcerts_Brochure.pdf

Thanks, Jamie!

Favorite Baby Gear

A friend of mine asked for Baby Shower gift ideas - so I thought I'd put a few of my favorites here. Feel free to add your favorite must-haves in the comments section!

1. See Kai Run: Olivia is so particular about the shoes she wears. When I found this company, I was sold! They are the cutest, most durable and comfortable shoes. I only wish they made grown-up sizes!

2. Diapees & Wipees: I've never been a fan of the big diaper bag - so I love carrying just the essentials in my purse. This *adorable* little cloth bag holds a few diapers and a few wipes. Just what we need.

3. Baby Legs: I'm guessing you've already heard of these. If not, think legwarmers specificlly designed for baby's chubby legs. They were created by a mom (duh) who wanted to keep little legs warm in the Pacific Northwest. Now they're all over the world.

Those are just a few of my favorite gift ideas. Do you have a favorite shower gift to give?
