Remember when?

Can you even see this picture? It was taken with a cell phone camera the day we brought Olivia home from the hospital. I was just looking at it on my phone, hardly believing that she's six months old now. Is this how fast time goes?

Thanks to Auntie Ellen who knit the amazing hat. I think she should start a business.

You guessed it. Swinging.

It's all she does.

Random Thoughts

Everyone here at Spirit has been saying "Post that laundry picture!"

So here it is.

Oh, and in unrelated news, I'm hungry. Starving, actually. It's about 5:20 as I type this. Tom and I are on-air, talking about food that we want to eat. We're both trying to eat healthier (i.e. not so much junk food) and all we can think about is pizza. And ice cream.

I wish I craved healthy foods. Some people are so lucky - they actually want to eat vegetables and fish and omega-whatevers. I want those tastebuds. I wish that was me. Why did I get the tastebuds that only like plain things and food that is bad for me? I wish there was such a thing as a taste-bud transplant.

I am NOT eating pizza tonight. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not.

Rollover Champion

Look at her on her tummy! My big girl! I can't believe it's been almost six months since we brought her home from the hospital. She's growing before my eyes. She rolls over all the time, and almost can sit up by herself! And.... drumroll please... I will be posting a picture soon of her eating rice cereal! It's super cute. The little plastic covered spoon, the soggy bib, and the big grin!

And oh yeah... Tom and I talked today on-air about the fact that he started a blog but doesn't update it. He's such a nut. You should click the link (to your right) that says "Tom's Blog" and leave him a message to update! Sheesh!

Ruth Bell Graham 1920-2007

When I heard today that Ruth Bell Graham passed away, I instantly remembered one particular poem. When I was a teenager, my mom handed me a piece of paper with this prayer.

Dear God, I prayed, all unafraid
(as we're inclined to do)
I do not need a handsome man
but let him be like you;

I do not need one big and strong
nor yet so very tall,
nor need he be some genius
or wealthy, Lord, at all;
but let his head be high, dear God,
and let his eye be clear,
his shoulders straight,
whate'er his state,
whate'er his earthly sphere;
and let his face have character,
a ruggedness of soul,
and let his whole life show,
dear God,
a singleness of goal;
then when he comes
(as he will come)
with quiet eyes aglow
I'll understand that he's the man
I prayed for long ago."*

Ruth Bell wrote this poem about her future husband when she was just 19 years old. Before she even met Billy Graham.

The Great Outdoors

I'm glad Olivia gets outdoor time at Grandma's house. I'm a homebody; an indoor girl. Grandma is the opposite - which is why Olivia is thrilled to have this outdoor swing. She loves it!
